MapleStory is slowly dying?

Alright, so at the start of the summer I started playing MapleStory again after not playing for over a year. During the time that I DID play in the past, Maple seemed pretty safe as in immunity to hacking and glitches. Who knows if my memories are correct? Anyway, a while back (about a month ago, maybe?), the meso glitches/exploits came out. Ever since then, it seems like Maple has been being attacked by hackers non-stop and I've heard that there are so many glitches and random lagging and just SO MANY problems with Maple. When the random banning/auto banner glitch started going on, I just completely stopped playing and I don't think I've played for more than 3~5 weeks out of fear for my account's and my item's/character's safety. I've been on the Nexon forums more than I have Maple in the past few weeks just so I can keep updated on the various glitches so I don't end up playing when I shouldn't and end up having something really bad happen. It seems to me that Nexon has done nothing to warn any players or fix any of these problems, which is pretty sad. If they could at least give us a heads-up on these problems, I'd be satisfied. But instead I have to spend an extra hour on the forums to make sure every thing is safe. Pretty sad if you ask me. And, yes, I understand that I don't absolutely have to waste my time doing this. Heck, I could be playing PangYa, or Perfect World, or cleaning my room (it needs it badly). But I just want to get back on Maple. To be honest, I kinda miss it, especially since right before I stopped playing I got some nice Perma NX for my Evan and her leveling was going nicely. I'm getting bored of all the other games (I've even resorted to RuneScape Dx), and school doesn't start until next week. I even finished my summer reading. But I AM concerned about Maple's glitches and the hacking. I have more than what's required to play Maple as in computer requirements, and my internet connection is pretty stable/decent, so I should be able to play with no problem. I've got Windows XP so the vista/win7 problem shouldn't occur. I usually play on Windia and Kradia (Did Kradia's name get changed or something? o.O), which server is safer right now? I know that I probably shouldn't go in Erve, the cash shop, some party quests, or the FM due to D/C hackers and other various glitches. Are there any other things I need to watch out for to avoid getting hacked/scammed/banned/DC'd/glitched/what ever the hell else can happen to my account? And does anyone else agree with me that MapleStory is kinda... going down the toilet? It's kinda sad, I like this game a lot... It's just that everyone keeps losing accounts, items, NX, and even characters in some cases. I just don't want that to happen to myself and I want to try to prevent it. :/ For the fun of it, I'm going to make this into a poll! Does it feel like MapleStory is going down the toilet to you? If not, please comment why.

Depends on your opinion, if your playing this game for your own reasons and cause your enjoying it I don't see an issue with the past or present.

I know, but I'm mainly scared for my account's safety, like I said. Because of the new scrolling glitch, we're probably going to get rolled back soon, so I don't really see the point in even playing unless I'd just talk to people...

I think it is being killed. Nexon is milking more and more out of the game, at higher and higher cost to the actual game itself. And at the same time, tons of gamebreaking stuff is coming out, which isn't necessarily nexon's fault, but their negligent reactions to them are making them far worse. They should be working pre-emptively to prevent stuff like the meso exploits. They are the results of shoddy programming. I think nexon's revival of tespia is a step in the right direction though, and hopefully it is the beginning of a trend.

@Markedmask I agree with you, but I don't know what Tespia is. I'll go Google it. Oh, a test server! Duh, I should have known. That's good, it's a very smart move on their behalf. I was in the Nexon: Maple forums a few weeks ago and I mentioned something about testing their patches before releasing them to another forumer. Hopefully they'll make a comeback. @TOADified Thanks :D

aww when u said dying i thought u meant less people. but theres too many worlds now broa is dying. OT: yes hackers are vampires and legit players are 1 big body. the vampires(hackers) are sucking the happiness and fun out of the body(legit players) for they own enjoyment. a year ago 1 hardly saw hackers or heard of people getting hacked. nexon did more about hackers back then

I think the game would be fine if Nexon would just put a little more effort into security. Instead, every patch fixes one or two minor bugs and adds more CS items. Of course, I could be being completely biased seeing as how I had my items rolled back with zero compensation for it. Oh well.

So... I got hellbanned after the meso exploit and stopped playing for almost a month since i couldn't trade... and today, i came back and checked my account and found out I have only 10k left on my character... Apparently I sold around 500m of stuff, making me have around 600m and it seems like nexon just deleted it all... I think I got chosen for tespia but their poor actions don't even make me feel like commenting on how to make it better... good thing is that i can concentrate more on studying and school now =]

[/quote] Nexon is not capable of blinking their eyes and having hacks/exploits go away takes time.
