how many of you can honestly say you understand addiction?

any kind of addiction has the same basics but can you really understand any of them? i know there is one addiction i can understand (not drugs, video games, or sex)

It depends.. I think I have an understanding of it, since I can obviously see that I'm addicted to certain things, but when it comes to more extreme sorts of addiction.. I can see the reason behind it, but I can't say that I have a great experience of it. :p

I am addicted to caffeine. Its not powerfully addictive, but just the same, when you stop, you notice it. its not a "gimme caffeine now!" its a constant "ohh caffeine sounds so good right now..." more powerful addictions are a bit harder to understand, since I havent been there.

By understanding addiction, you mean by knowing that you shouldn't do it or else your life will be in chaos? Yes, I know what to do and what not to do however I like to try new things. Or do you mean by addiction, that you've already screwed up and regret ever doing it from the first place? Not there yet... Honestly, I'm doing hooka but have only done it three times in the past 2-3 months. I don't expect getting addicted to anything except for games and especially to drugs or cigarettes. I am not addicted to sex because I'm still a virgin but that's okay. I think being a virgin is better than being pregnant at the age of 16. I play a lot of games but I'm starting to break the habit by going out with friends or playing airsoft with my buddies. Unfortunately, it doesn't help when there are new games coming out that look really good (Halo: Reach, Call of Duty: Black Ops).

To be honest, I think I just came to a realisation that I'm addicted to BasilMarket...I mean, whenever I'm on the internet I'll casually open it up as if it's a homepage, just to see if I got mail, anyone interesting is on, or if there is any 'news', be that maple related, or some kind of BIG event. As we all know, Basil is the first and best news/media coverage we have. As soon as something happens that's worth talking about, 10 threads about that subject SPRING into action all at the same time, ROCK ON, BASIL!
