| I stopped playing for two weeks and when I came back, my PiC was changed. So I resetted it and I logged into the game. ALL MY STUFF WAS GONE! all my ilbis, c ilbis, nevas, skandas, and my precious 18 attack wg. I played for two years to get this stuff and now it's all gone! How did the hacker even get into my accont? I never trusted anyone enough to give them my account info. and I didn't go into any bad websites. What should I do(besides quitting I know I should)? |

| If you've played on one of your friend's computers, his might have had a keylogger on it. |

|
RushOfDawn : I'd expect this from a Scanian. There was a database leak a while ago which released the info of every account made before 2008 or 2009 area. That's possibly why. Keyloggers are also a possibility, you could download some Anti-Viruses and full-scan your computer. Although it's not allowed for me to post websites, here are some Freeware names: Spyware Terminator, Spyware S&D SuperAntiSpyware Avast Microsoft Security Essentials EDIT: OH LOOKY HERE ANOTHER SCANIAN ABOVE ME WITH AN ATTEMPT TO LOOK SMART. Fantastic.
I have no idea why you would someone try to associate a person's choice of server with their level of intellectual aptitude, so we'll just let that go if it somehow allows you to feel a bit smug and superior. Kudos to you, your wit has certainly put me in my place and I shall forever bear the scar from your cutting riposte. As for the unsubstantiated claims that there was a database leak. I've also seen the screenshots/text files of an alleged subset of the account information. However, that would lend ever further credence to my claim that any new database breach is so far beyond the realm of likelihood that any further discussion is only useful as a theoretical intellectual curiosity. Had someone successfully received information via SQL injection (which would be the most likely vector of attack), it would have long been patched. Can I be 100% certain that the Nexon databases have been compromised? Of course not. Is it a waste of time to consider? Absolutely. |

| The leak was pretty severe, nobody knows how they got it, but the hackers did get the information. It doesn't matter if Nexon is a big company, they still got Ninja'd. EDIT: How come it's only Scanians.. hrm. Oh yeah you guys got that one guy.. ./bows to him Anyways, there WAS a leak, if this person had not played for a while, or his account was made before the date/year I stated, it's likely the hackers still have full info to the account. I changed my password on my compromised account several times. I changed the PIN(PINs were still available during the leak), password, email password&all. Didn't work. My computer has never been keylogged because I don't visit any website other than the well-respected(google, youtube, hotmail, etc). Of course everyone's in denial that there was a leak, because nobody is (and I may sound arrogant/stupid here) as well informed as I am(and the people who provided me with the info). Also I changed my insulting EDIT, which was completely unnecessary that much I realized. |

|
magestic04 : same thing happened to me. its cuz hackers got into the data base on the website which stores everybody's username, password, and PIC.
that was during the mass hackings they fixed that |
If you're so well informed, please do share the inside details of how the previous database hacking occured. DNS spoofing? SQL Injection? I'm not being facetious here, I truly would like to know how the 'insiders' say they did it. As I said, it's certainly possible that it occurred before, but it would have been long patched. The TS said he took a break for 2 weeks, which implies this would have been some recent database leak. I think the chances of a new database breech, when weighed against the numerous self inflicted options (phished, keylogged, giving our account info, socially engineered, etc...) is exceedingly tiny. |

But his information could have already been compromised during the leak a while ago, it's just that they never "got to his account" yet. Realize A LOT of people were hacked as in information compromised, but some have not yet been stripped. Expect to see more of these threads. |

| I was hacked almost the same way. Maple had a leak of account info a while back and a lot of accounts got hacked. That could be why |

| Simply put, I suspect, more than anything, A keylogger, Most "Careful" maplers, that care about their account wont share their info, however, the lovely thing about Loggers, is no 1 antivirus or antispyware, blocks or even sees them all, you either downloaded something, or got tricked by a website (Like watched a video and said 'Install the latest flash here' 'Yeah that's not flash!') or hell even accidentally typed the main maplesite and it sent you to a good looking copy, point is you were duped, Best thing to do is either format the PC to ensure that the logger is destroyed, or run about 5 different anti-virus or spyware programs, beauty is, you'll never know if you got it, but like I said it may have not been a logger, could of been a phish. |
