Interesting. I didn't know that they actually shot a scene in which Luke made his lightsaber; I thought it was just understood. I haven't read it in a while, but I'm pretty sure Shadows of the Empire described Luke making his lightsaber in detail.

I mean the movie obviously still makes sense without this scene, but it's really cool that Luke becoming a Jedi Knight was filmed but remained unseen for so many years
