I think it takes 24hours for muscles to regain there strength :o... So if you feel sore then you should rest for another day.

You sure you're eating properly? I tend to only get sore for an hr tops nowadays even though I'm lifting a lot more than I used to. I go for a creatine and protein mix with plenty of veg which reduces soreness by a hell of a lot.

YES absolutely The reason why you are sore if due to the lactic acid build up in your muscles from sitting around and then working out, and the only way to get rid of that acid is to work out some more. But when you work out switch up the muscle category each day ex. Monday-Legs/back Tuesday-Abs/chest and ect.

you're supposed to exercise every other day because it takes 24 hours for your muscles to heal from the tearing of your previous exercise.

soreness is a poor indication of muscle growth. remember to do the necessary warm ups and warms downs, you should rest.
