[if you read it thanks, if you dont no need to comment, intelligent comments are always appreciated] Well with the big bang coming out i cant help but start to think that mesos are gonna become worthless. why you may ask? Because it is agreeable that the driving force of meso worth is based upon the cost of pots to train at an effective level. As compared to other games MS pots are worth a great deal more compared to the return on monster drops. Whats the Big Bang got to do with it? Well in the big bang pots are dropping more frequently and in stacks [according to sources] which is going to greatly decrease the need to even buy pots befor venturing out on long training sessions. This will not have a large impact on the meso backed economy straight off but as people realize that they need less and less mesos to repot, there will be more pure drop mesos in the economy. Simply stated if you spend 10mil on hp/mp pots before the big bang and train those pots down you will end with say 15mil in pure meso drops therefor making 5mil. But post big bang with monsters droping stacks of pots level approriate you could venture out with the same 10mil pots train and loot pot/mesos the same as you would now and end the training session with 20-25mil giving a profit of 10-15mil pure mesos. Applied to the current economy we have items that sell for 4xmax mesos...an economy cant be sustained with such high prices for items and merchants are the leading cause of that. If mesos become useless the only need for them is to buy pots and other shop items and lower lvl equips, the new currency would eventually switch to a stable priced item like scrolls or stars or something that holds its relative worth. Post big bang im sure we will see many more item for item trades because the price of items will be outrageous compared to the meso cap. you see this with many other mmorpg and rpgs where the currency isnt the gold but maybe runes, talismans, rings, or resources. anyone else think that eventually a shift away from mesos is gonna happen?

the use of money is not forced by the need to purchase pots at all... if you compare the amount of mesos spent by someone on pots to the amount spent on items/equips, the ratio would probably be like 1:4, 1:3 at the least.

how high would they need to make them to have meso deals worth while compared to item to item that dont carry taxes edit: to above yes the cost of equips dwarfs cost of pots but pots are the bottom of the tower that makes everything turn round. there isnt a char in MS without a pot that they bought from a store but there are many MS players that forgo expensive equips

Pots drop constanly in KMS, so does mesos and equips The value of Meso will change. In KMS the nx rate is 1:4m , Pets cost 20m, zh 20m (sokd), and a HTP is around 40-50m(sokd) I find about 2 or three scrolls a day in KMS.

Potions have very little drive on the economy. Most of meso demand in the economy is driven by competition for equipment, skillbooks, scrolls, various forging items, and onyx apples. Reason why prices for most things are in the "mil" range is due to the competitive supply of meso. This pressure increases daily (inflation) due to more meso entering the economy (drops and lol-sacks) than leaving (taxes and lol-ME). So really potions (especailly those used for training) is not a primary driving force on meso value.

People use mesos to buy their equipment, buy stuff for their maker skill so they can make their equipment and a lot of other stuff then just potions. Let alone some ppl use pots that aren't dropped by monsters...NLC pots.

yes, but they can raise the price of pots so that if you only need to buy 500 instead of the usual 1000 you spend the same amount of money, then during training you get 500 extra pots from the drops, so you got 1000pots for the same price (made up numbers). Or Nexon would just skrew us over and make them crappy pots, not like the nlc pots that everyone uses.

I can care less TBH o_o. In Temple of Time, a 5m worth of pots can last you 8 hours. You can make around 1 PoT every 10mins, so 48 PoT. This equals to roughly 300m o_o. Enough for pots till 200 probably.
