| For the last few days, our group was struggling to make our robot turn a perfect 90 degree angle. The program we use, logo blocks, uses seconds to determine the angle of the turn. My question is; How many seconds (most likely fractions of a seconds) will a robot have to turn to make a full 90 degree angle? We tried .90 (of a second), .45, .30, .10, .75, and many other combinations, but none seem to be accurate. D: |

| what you do is time it to turn a 360 then divide the time by 1/4. then work your way from there. Another way to get this more accurate is to draw a triangle on the floor measuring 3m by 4m by 5m (i.e. right angled) then to have the robot travel along the 3m side, perfom a turn at the 4m junction, then to continue along, then you can use how far it is off course by to try to get this more accurate. Also by simple guessing of the sort of system you are using i'm thinking there wouldn't be a fixed amount of time it take to make a 90` turn since different models could have different track widths? |

| Time required is dependent on the servos/motors used, as even physically identical parts will be subtly different on the inside. Best bet is to guess and check, or use taleko's triangle method. Another method is (if you're trying to rotate in place 90 degrees) to use a light sensor if available and have it go from one black line to another black line 90 degrees away. |
