Why do we mourn death?

Why do we mourn death? We should be mourning birth. When birth occurs, death is only inevitable. Explain please?

You're supposed to celebrate birth because a new person will be introduced to the world and make tons of new memories. People mourn death because they're sad that the person is leaving their life

So you're basically asking why people are born, if they'll die eventually. People mourn death cause they won't be with that person anymore.

Depends on the society. Some societies that don't really mourn death but, in a way, celebrate death.

people mourn death because they are afraid of the unknown. People celebrate birth because new life is a good thing.
