This game has been in a horrid state for years. Nexon has bee trying to fix things and creating profit by adding more and more shortcuts to goals that people may have. PQ's for fast levels, tonnes of scrolls for godly damage, etc. etc. Now, the Potential system for one is rather nice, other than the fact that it screws old players. But it's just laying it on, just like everything else. Scrolls > Dark Scrolls > White Scrolls > Chaos Scrolls > 50% Scrolls > Vicious Hammers > Vega's Scrolls... Etc, you see where I'm going with this. At the very beginning, at least scrolls were RARE and SPECIAL... Now they're a necessity. >< These shortcuts pretty much made every other method obsolete and forgotten. But the problem is that MapleStory's magic lay in the mystery and discovery related to every map. And no matter where you adventured, you weren't wasting your time, because no other place provided ridiculously better exp. To be honest, I enjoyed Red Drakes, Himes, Florina Beach and Cellions. It was fun tele-casting Thunderbolt and Ice Strike, trying to avoid damage while racking up huge mobs. Nexon's mistake was fast-tracking everything, instead of soaking every bit of it with fun. In my experience, I've levelled too quickly, with barely any variety after level 120. Is getting to level 120 ASAP really that important? After 120, it's just a huge, painful trek to 200, where the game ends and you wonder if you actually had fun. Up until 120, it's now the exact same thing. No choice in training spots. Nexon should've just made training funner. No one cares if they're levelling slowly, if how they're levelling is fun. A great example of this is the Pyramid PQ. It wreaks of lonely, mind numbing grinding, even though it gives good exp. My question is... As the Big Bang patch is taking away focus from ultimates, raising the levels of Florina Beach monsters and Coolie Zombies, and is overall balancing classes... Will MapleStory be magical again? EDIT: I forgot the artwork. What happened to the dam artwork? D: Look at Ellinia Station (to Orbis), then look at New Leaf City. Oh god...

I think Evans would mainly be at Scarlion FWing it to death. I seen it done haha

I think the Big Bang patch really organizes things. Over the years, people have made Bishops just to get Genesis and sell leech. The ONLY players of which I knew of that didn't do that, were the complete newcomers to MapleStory. Clerics are the only class in the game that can heal others, correct me if I'm wrong. I see Clerics in PQs that don't even use Heal as it was meant to be used, they use it to attack. The only reason the other players got healed was because they were near it. I was shocked when I saw this. It annoys me to no end when I see Bishops complaining about Nexon taking their only training move away. Let me set this straight, Nexon intended for players to use Clerics to HEAL others, and do some MINOR damage so that they wouldn't be completely useless.

The highest chain lightning so far was 100-115k+ by a 162 i/l archmage at magatia. Another 149 and 162 i/l archmage had 70-75k chain lightnings while soloing pap. A godly 164 bishop hits 250k+ angel rays at temple of time... Again, these numbers may change due to bosses being made more difficult in kmst.

Scrolls aren't a necessity. People just want them to be on par with others. Get out of that mentality, and you have the same game as it used to be. People can go train at Coolies if they want, nobodies stopping them. Everyone can wear "weaker" equips if they want, that's still an available option.

The classes that I see a lot now are the Explorers and Heroes.

The point is, not only the bishops have ultimates, mages have too. And most of time we only go to bosses when we have good connections, and we aren't paid as a attacker class would be. If i don't have my ultimate anymore, and I can't sell leech anymore( Not that I actually sell leech, i'm probably one of the few arch-mages that don't sell leech, but I respect the one's that have the patience to stay hours playing.) Then main point is that my training will be really slow now, poison mist and fire demon, that will be my main training skills, and they aren't fast. And IF i don't have a good skill for training, AND I can't go to boss runs. What are left for me?

I really hope this big bang patch can cure everything! I hate the scania server crashing thats why i have stoped playing for 2 days now. Really hope it gets fixed I lost my zhelm and my money, like usually u get back ur money after a rollback but i did not and no zhelm

[/quote] You're not going to be using fire demon that much anymore. *I have yet to see a kms archmage use ice/fire demon once. Paralyze being a mob 'ice strike' really works well with big bang.
