Why are people so critical?

I saw a thread talking about the "good-ol-days," and it pissed me off a bit. I've seen nothing but improvements. Originally i found the "classic maplestory" to be quite boring. After coming back from a year break playing WoW, around the time cygnus were released, the game gets more and more fun every patch! Sure nexon isn't exactly the most useful.... well they aren't really useful for anything more than keeping the servers running ( they can't really do that half the time), regardless I'm always excited for new content. Like any game, there is good points and not-so-good points, if you want to continue playing then try complaining less. Trust me, you'll find yourself a lot more happy playing! What's your opinion?

I agree. It's not that I didn't enjoy the old game, but overall it really improved content-wise. People tend to remember only the good things about the past. THEIR NOSTALGIA WILL BE THEIR DOWNFALL.

I disagree. The old 2005-2007 Maplestory had a different gaming experience element to it. Back then it wasn't really about damage, or who had the best equips, because the best equips were like 10 attack work gloves. People actually played for fun, instead of competition and cyber-bully purposes. I guess the game hasn't changed, but the community has changed, for the worse.

That, and hackers couldn't destroy the game back then. They could kick you out of a map, for sure, but they couldn't break the economy like they're doing now.

Sure, new content and all is great, but as Travis said, the game is much more...damage and NX orientated than before. Before, the community consisted of people who were, well, to be blunt, great to be around. Nowadays, it's just people who have no regard for personal conduct, manners, or even literacy. Of course, there are still some great people around, but definitely not as many as before. Basically, the community has changed, which is what the older players hate.

The problem is that 98% of the people on those threads were never in the old days. If they were they'd know that it was DIFFICULT and BORING to level, there were SCAMMERS and HACKERS everywhere, they would know that level 30 wasn't a big achievement at all, and they would know the game sucked. Not to mention it was difficult to get any money, and every was a jerk out on their own. Oh, and how 90% of them think getting a pan lid was godly. LOL!

i like the new content but i dont like all the new classes 15 classes plus 4 other classes equals 19 classes. the 15 are needed for the games story line the other 4 are just along for the ride...

I like the new extensions and classes. It pushes me to make my existing characters stronger and level them higher so as to make them better than the newer "OP" classes, which I mostly refuse to make.
