I know there's a few topics on this in various other forums, but I've tried most of the solutions posted, and nothing's worked. Right after hackshield loads, the screen goes black and it flickers back to my firefox browser window and i get the error code pop-up. Maplestory's been working perfectly fine for me just before the patch (i've never gotten the error code before either) so i was wondering if maybe they changed.... something in this new patch regarding the whole graphic card requirement thing? : / (have no idea, am a total computer nub) oh, and i've tried to restart my computer: didn't work, redownload the whole game: didn't work, so i was wondering if there's something else i should try..? thanks : ) EDIT! I've found a solution that works for me. all i did was change my browser to internet explorer 8 and it worked so try it : / maybe it'll work for you guys GL!

I suppose you haven't seen my thread which is a couple lines down in the Tech section... This error is affecting quite a bit of people(though not a majority) and it seems to have something to do with Maplestory being incompatible with certain types of graphics cards after the patch. There is no confirmed fix for it yet as far as I know, and the best thing you can do is to submit a ticket so that Nexon will hopefully notice this and fix the error.

I have the exact same problem. The manual patch itself failed for me, because of the limited space on hard drive. I made some space and got the manual patch finished. While starting the game I keep get this "Unknown error 0x88760176c"... I sent a PM to someone in Sleepywood forums who had the same problem in November. I asked how he solved the problem. No answer yet. I'm downloading the whole client, hope that will fix it. The error code is not the only thing getting on my nerve, because I've also had problems with the downloader. It has taken 8 hours already and I'm on 65%... Something's not right.

Same thing, but U and i are not really unlucky, i heard scanias rollback caused ppl to lose billions in meso and thousands in nx, so try not to trade, transer, sell, duey anything once u logged in successfully x)

I'm having the same problem. I can't fix it. I've already tried reinstalling 3 times. I'm not sure what my graphics card is (How do you check.? XD), so that still might be the problem. I can't find a solution that works. Any more suggestions.? ._.

This is how I find my graphics card settings: Right click desktop to bring up Display properties. Go to settings and click on advanced, which brings up a window for my graphics card; the type is listed in one of the tabs. You might or might not be able to fix it by updating your graphics card driver, but that didn't work for me.

D: wanted to try the whole 'get a dual blader at level 30' thing

Someone said they fixed it themselves: http://forum.nexon.net/MapleStory/forums/2/5190763/ShowThread.aspx It sounds risky though. Make sure you don't brick your computer when uninstalling all your video drivers. (I haven't tried this yet... backing up first x.x) Edit: I tried the method that person posted. The good news is that I didn't kill my computer. The bad news is that Maplestory still doesn't work and now my display is kinda weird. :S
