I am trying to gather people who have the same problem as I do. My theory is that Maplestory is not supported by (conflicts with) Radeon 9000 series graphics cards(or others), so if you are getting this error, please confirm or deny this for me. Before I get a dozen posts suggesting that I should Google this and fix it myself, I have already. I've been trying to find ways to fix this for the past 20 hours. Methods I've tried so far: 1) Completely uninstalling Maplestory. Redownloading the entire game client. Reinstalling Maplestory. 2) Using the method posted on Nexon's Tech Forum for Maplestory, deleting all registry keys for Maplestory and then reinstalling. 3) Restarting the computer. 4) Using an older version of Maplestory and Manual Patching up to v88. 5) Updating my graphics card drivers. 6) Using Setup.exe 7) Changing resolution and running in different color modes (I'm using Windows XP) 8) Reformatting my entire computer, updating fully, and repeating the steps above. 9) Closing all other programs (firewalls, antivirus) that might conflict with Maplestory. 10) Updated DirectX a) I've been browsing Basilmarket, Sleepywood, and Nexon's tech forums for solutions and I've tried every single one. I also submitted a ticket. Of course the GM responding to my ticket copy-pasted the list of things I just did above and closed my ticket without bothering to see that my ticket already mentioned that I've done everything /end mini-rant So if you're getting this error, please post. has anyone figured out the solution to this problem YET? still doesn't work for me after 2 days. I miss the 6 hour 2x EXP event too wow. So we get nothing!

Your virus scan fails. AVG is the worst and it doesnt support gaming. When you delete avg you will get another error. Sorry

I have the same issue as well. Running an ATI Graphic Card. I haven't tried a solution yet since Im heading out right now. Might try one later on tonight. I find it weird that it would give me an error like that when I haven't downloaded or updated anything on my laptop. I have another laptop running a different graphic card; I'll try to see if it works on there.

it seems like it must be an ati graphics issue.....i am assuming all of us have an ati graphics card? Both my desktop and laptop have ati cards and MS doesn't work anymore after the patch......but on my 3rd latop it works and it's not an ati card either. So it seems it has something to do with ATI card. I did notice MS changed the login graphics so maybe something about that?

Here's an answer from Nexon "A possible solution would be to reboot your computer and try again momentarily. If this does not help I would then suggest that you manually re-install the game from the official Nexon.net website. Please make sure to use the "Add/Remove Programs" when deleting the game. Also select "Delete Files" by opening up Internet Explorer going to the "Tools" option and into `Internet options" There, go to the "General" tab, and then find the "Temporary Internet files" (should be close to the browsing history) and select "Delete files" Once it is clear, try to download the game again. Make sure that you are using an updated version of Internet Explorer, it is a known issue that other browsers may have conflicting issues with our website. Also, make sure that you are downloading the client from the official Nexon.net website. Please be sure to close all unnecessary programs prior to running the game. This may include Anti-Virus software and Spyware protection programs. You will need ensure that your Anti-Virus and Spyware protection programs do allow MapleStory and HackShield. So far I'm trying to manual patch again. It won't load though. Always gets stuck on "(3/3) Creating: Map.wz" It's been stuck for 2 hours.
