Pros and cons of corsair? - BasilMarket Forum

Hey guys, I've never really payed much attention to corsairs, I know they have some flashy skills, a cannon ship, high DPM, and that's about it. They look fun and this is the first ranged job I'm going to make in almost 4 years. The main thing I look for in characters is: Good dmg, somewhat fun, good mob skills, wanted for boss runs. So does a corsair suit those? What are their pros and cons? Sorry, I would have done my research but I want to get started asap and yeah :P Thanks guys! Also, for all you corsairs out there, was making a corsair a good choice? Ever had regrets or anything? (I'm planning to reach 4th job btw)

My Characters: saiiyer - 18 Scania Archer

Good damage: Corsair's are on the bottom end of the DPS tables, if I recal correctly. Somewhat fun: Having to mount and dismount ship is terrible. And spamming cannon is about as fun as watching paint dry. Good mob skills: Corsairs have no 4th job mob skills, have fun spamming cannon all day. Wanted for boss runs: Are you kidding me? NLs are the ONLY class in boss runs because they get 15 min.s on their apple. Pros: None that I can think of. Cons: Sucky damage, annoying play style, never wanted for bosses because we have no party buffs, worst training in the game after BMs, and Battleship only has 4k HP at level 1 and if you raise it higher then it's CD is increased making it unusable, Rapid fire sucks in comparison to Hurricane, and they're never wanted for bosses. Was making a corsair a good choice: Worst choice I ever made. The NL bandwagon is the way to go.

Top-tier DPM. Highly wanted for bossing due to said DPM. Torpedo = 4th Job mob skill. Fun as hell. At 13x I was being picked over 15x NLs for parties/runs. Also I own Anego.

High mobility, highest damage, colourful attacks.

I tried to kill a Skele once and got pissed off.

Outlaw is fun. Corsair can be pretty boring, I think. Having to mount and demount battleship over and over is the only thing about it that really bothers me.
