Old gen and new gen gunslingers

Its becoming more and more obvious to me that there is a defined split between gunslingers. There are the old gunslingers, and the new gunslingers, and alot of tension between the two. The older gunslingers (pre balance patch) were looked up to by many basil players, due to high damage and rarity. Many people wanted to make gunslingers, but never wanted to deal with leveling what is now considered the most boring and frustrating class to level in game up to 3rd job. With the balance patch, many new gunslingers havet joined the ranks, now aided with greater damage in 2nd job, and other perks (no pistol whipping), they soared through various levels, many are reaching 3rd job and even 4th. Some older outlaws and corsairs have called them bandwagoners, and look down upon the new wave. I worked my way through the old gunslinger for a long time, and it was grueling, being almost useless in cpq, being laughed at by assassins named D3xlessnaruto, falling asleep at mp3. With the balance patch and recent 2x events, I managed to jet up from level 59 to 81 in 3 or 4 weeks. This may seem slow, but it was lightning fast compared to the way I had been leveling beforehand. I can see why some older players are frustrated at newer players, but I can also understand that some players want to try a new class that was too difficult for them to level beforehand. Whats your opinion? Are newer gunslingers just taking advantage of the balance patch? Making a difficult and prestigious class less special? Is it just the way nexon intended? Are the old heads just bitter?

Haha.. Actually, I started Pre-Balance Patch. I was around lvl 65 when the BP came around because I quit for a while but I guess I blended in with some new slingers. I actually met a sair who remade their slinger in my 3x levels and he actually helped me out really well and pretty much mentored me through my career so far.

All I can say is that they've added a lot of threads to the gunslinger forums, mostly complaints about lower ascent, where to train, and about being strless. My only legitimate complaint is that the bandwagon made gun stimulators and scrolls more expensive and harder to find for reasonable or low prices, but I think selling off my excess bullets for 2 mil each outweighs that.

I was a pre balance patch slinger too, I was about 50 before the BP came out. I remember I was at mp3 once and a TB or brawler came along and was like: "I didnt think it was possible" I said: "What?" He said: "A slinger" I lol'd I do miss being semi rare, but I dont mind, let people play the class they wanna play.

i made my slinger before the patch and i must say my dmg was not that bad. well i was really funded But anyway. I dont really care about these new slingers because slinger class are true pros if they can get past lvl 110 i give them my repect just for the fact that they newtz like crazy to get to that lvl. If they can stay awake fot hours to train in the mst boring place in gms and get to lvl 110+ you are a true slinger and you have my repect. Lol and most new slingers will quit anyway when DB comes out so who cares.

I got to lvl 70 before the patch. It was really frustrating hitting no more than 300 two times. Now new gunslingers do that at lvl 30. I also noticed that if a new gunslinger was made by a dexless sin, they usually continued to jump and attack.

in eMS we haven't had the balance patch yet, I'm powering it up to 70 slowly, it's gruelling and hard and us gunslingers are still rare and weak. ;)

I was 200 before the balance patch. Still 200. Probably some reason for that I'll look into later. All I can say about the new rise in slingers is that every noob and their brother and sister and mother and probably cousin too are asking me questions about what kind of build to do or how much ap they should put into str. It's really annoying.

[/quote] I was a Prebalance slinger too till they hacked me so I started over im not used to this good slinger dmg I loved that challenage and the trash talk ppl gave you at 30-70 made me feel like the better one doing a harder class

As a result from the boost on Corsair damages, the job entices more people to make gunslingers. It's simply because of the nature of it all. I just learn to deal with it.

[/quote] I do this and i've only made a sin up to lvl 30 REG dex and this was like 2-3 years ago T-T
