Big bang=no hp washing?

So I pondered this up a while ago. Wouldn't percent equips make hp washing even harder than it is now? Wouldn't the normal stat equips be better in general? I mean, if you think about it, a 50% boost in INT when you only have 4 INT isn't nearly as good as a 8-10 int earring. In terms of hp washing, normal stat equips seem to be much better.
