When getting to level 30 was a pain the ass... Getting from 31-35 was hard w/o PQing No HPQ or CPQ Tracking at LPQ/ KPQ Sins with ilbis where the best Steelies were pro Tobis were what most people used NLC wasn't out yet (When NLC came out) Train at voodoos till 80 Then go down to Ludi's time tower and train.. If you didn't want to KPQ (you probably had to), go to pigs/ octopuses This is my favorite here, You had to wear your job's equipment! :D yea.. i don't want to think anymore :P Edit: oh yea, ludi wasn't out till a little while later
NinthLite : When people were nice, henesys hunting ground 1 was popular and good place to hunt. When people wouldn't reject and call you mean things if you randomly invited him/her. When prices were not inflated. Pig beach was the place to train to 20. when Tiger existed... i could ramble on 4eva but i will cut it short! WHEN MAPLE COMMUNITY WAS NICE AND GUIDED NOOBS TO THE RIGHT PATH
I like it when you said "guided noobs to the right path" Yep, that was true. We all had our ups and downs.

People who are hating on the early days of maple clearly did not have a strong social circle in Maplestory. You actually needed to know people in real life, who would then connect you to hackers who would set you up with some sweet tools. If you didn't know anyone on your server (personal experience after the release of Mardia) the game sucked hard. You could never get a party going to come explore with you, no one would let you into PQs, few would even train with you, regardless of level and equips. Also from personal experience (much earlier on in Scania), the game rocked when you knew people. Ant tunnel training was pro if you knew some good clerics, and boars were always fun if you could get your hands on a sin or two. Few people had mains, or even played on their own accounts, especially not if you had some high level friends who were willing to share. The game had lots of veriaty, even without Rogues and Pirates. I am not going to say they were a poor addition (I enjoy Pirates very much), for I think the mentality of the game started to change from that of a hang-out, kill funny looking demons, just whatever game to a game where training was the main focus. % per hour discusions were almost non-existant in the first few years of the game, but that all changed. Many wanabe old timers do not understand this: Maplestory was not always about damage ranges, % per hour and all that junk we have now. It was a community. There was plenty variaty. I'll admit some of the content has improved, but the community feeling of Maplestory died. It is no better or worse than it has ever been, but it was fresh and different from most of what we had seen before. Now, it has simply fallen in with the backdrop.
QFT. maple has changed in terms of maps, items, monster, etc. but, unfortunately so has the community in somewhat of a negative way.
Although, I'm not an oldie oldie player, I have to agree with this. When I first joined I think the community at the time was descending towards what it is now already...although the fall from grace could have happened much earlier.
