ST vs. 1H question

A couple of questions here if anyone can help 1) So I know that everyone says ST outdamages a lot of swords, there was a thread earlier where it said 116ST has higher dpm than a 16 attack shield + 113 Sparta. I don't understand how that's possible because the other one obviously gives more attack and I believe they're both the same speed? 2) I have 80 base dex and with all my equips, can hold a ST. Would this be a good way to go? I feel like not many people sell ST anymore and the ones I come across are all really expensive, whereas I can find shield for attacks (around 10 attack) everywhere. So since I do have the dex for a ST, which direction should I go? I have about 400mil fund, so I can't afford the really godly stuff. Thanks for help!

A 2H sword has a different damage formula than a 1H sword. If you have a 100 ATT 2H Sword, and a 100ATT 1H Sword, and every other equip was the same, the 2h sword would have a considerably higher damage range. To find the specific formula look around in the warrior guides.

Depends on funding..not worth going 1h+shield unless you have atleast 1.3b+ to spend on a shield. 1.3b can get you around a hammered 18 attack. Anything under 18 is a waste. I personally got a 20 att shield u/h for 187k nx, and that was decently cheap. To find out what attack red katana = what attack ST use the following formula x1 = total weapon attack x2 = total weapon attack to beat ST attack y = total weapon attack - your weapon's attack. (in other words your wg, pac, shield, etc.) z1 = your ST attack z2 = your katana attack Z1 + Y = X1 X1 * 1.0305 = X2 X2 - Y = Z2 Theres the katana attack that = your ST attack with the equips you provided. If that is too complicated for you, take the ST attack, add all your equips that add attack to it, and get the total weapon attack. Multiply your total weapon attack by 1.0305, or 103.05%, and you get the total weapon attack with a katana to beat it. Subtract all your attack equips with ur katana to get the attack katana to beat the ST.

Edit: I made some mistakes, the st actually wins and it's mainly due to the fact that 2 handed swords have a higher damage formula. Lets say a person gets 25 att from misc equips and rage, with ST, it'd be 116+25=141 att To beat the ST's damage, the 1h sword+ shield has to be 141*1.145 =161 att Lets put the 25 att gear into the 1h sword+shield setup 113+16+25=154, clearly the ST wins. Source To the TS: for your second question, definitely go for ST, I'd say a decent 120+ att ones, you might probably need to save up some money.

[/quote] why you would use something as crappy as a 113 sparta is beyond me. hell if anything your rkt should be that attack. if you can afford a 16 shield..which honestly isnt even very good..atleast get a decent sparta. also, is you can afford a 16 shield, youll be easily affording over a 120 st.

Haha ok, I understand now. Yeah so definitely getting a ST, but just gotta save up...A LOT. Currently I have a 114 blue screamer and its getting kinda weak now that I'm approaching 120.
