To All of the People Protecting Nexon's Actions

| Many of you seem to be taking Nexon's side, calling out people who have lost items, levels, money and most importantly time, "babies" and "whiners". I suppose you guys have not lost much due to the recent actions by the Nexon company. Most of you are saying Nexon is trying their best, taking the right action, they are not to blame, the hackers are, and how it takes countless hours to rewrite code that leads to time consuming server checks and maintenance. In response to a closed thread, Nexon has to rewrite code for the whole game? How do you know? Are you a computer engineer? Please be more specific. They dont have to rewrite code for anything, they just have to write ADDITIONAL code to patch up an exploit that is present in the game. Dont know what an exploit really means? Please google it! Ive played FFXI and WOW, and both of those games are miles more complicated than Maplestory. So, please tell me how FFXI and WOW programmers manage to patch a game in 5 hours, and have 1 server check every 2 months, that takes 2-3 hours? Tell me why a 2D game, that is Maplestory, takes 20 hours to patch an exploit that shouldnt even be there in the first place, while Square Enix can SUCCESSFULLY update a game in 3 hours with no hackers, glitches, and exploits? Maplestory is far from a free service for most Maplers, as many spend a lot of real life money buying NX. They charge $5.00 for a virtual hat that expires in 90 days, and you are trying to tell me they have no money to hire a proper team to update a service that people PAY for? Nexon is trying their best to fix the game, i understand, but these exploits shouldnt have even existed in the first place! Nexon, like every other proper company out there, should ensure that these problems DO NOT occur. Customers shouldn't have to face the consequences for their ignorance and arrogance. What if one day your bank told you a thief stole all of your precious belongings (jewelry, money, etc) from a safe deposit box you kept at the bank's safe, and later you found out the bank did not provide adequate security measures to ensure the safety of your belongings? You wouldnt be upset? You would take the bank's side and say its ok because they told you they are TRYING their best to get your stuff back, that you most likely will never see again? please enlighten me you darn hypocrites. Just because you havent lost something in this update, doesnt mean thousands of others did not. Stop thinking so selfishly. This time Nexon leaked out an exploit where virtual belongings were lost. But this is the same company you trust your personal information with. What if another hacker manages to find an exploit in Nexon's servers which hold credit card information from customers that purchase NX online? What then? THINK! Edit: I understand I did call out some people with profane words, I apologize; I have removed those comments. Sorry if you were offended; however, my argument against Nexon's actions still stand though. |

| Haha, I love the irony of the "stop thinking so selfishly". That is exactly what you are doing. You are thinking about yourself, feeling sorry for yourself, for your loss. Defenders are not selfish, as they are not defending themselves, but defending Nexon as a whole. If a game gets you as worked up as this, perhaps you should spend less time playing games, and more times seeking help. Edit: Banks have at least 100,000 dollars in insurance. I wouldn't be worried. Plus, that is real life. They can't help it if they get robbed. I'm not going to have a bank person shot just so I can keep my money. These are pixels. They are gone, there is nothing that you can do, so you must try and get over your loss. |

Last time I checked, this thread is voicing the words of the people who buy NX, and are being shafted by Nexon's inability to properly secure their product. Defenders are selfish, because they have not lost anything in this patch, therefore they are taking the side of Nexon, who gave them a free 5k NX as a bribe. |

| If you don't like it, why play it? And I notice that your ranting the price of how much a virtual hat cost, then why are YOU buying it? If we don't buy NX, nexon will have no money to support the entire game. |

At that moment, he is showing an act of understanding towards others, which is not being selfish. Sorry bucko, try again next time. |

| For once some1 started a argument with back up. I support you random basiler! Edit: Does it really matter if he's supposedly thinking selfishly. He does have a good point about how other games do better jobs on this sorta stuff, and don't start saying that they don't get as much money as WoW or any other game. MapleStory is spread through out the world, the only way you can do that is if you have MONEY. I mean honestly how many people does it need to patch something that they already know about, maybe around 50? I really don't think Nexon should be spending hours and hours on 1 thing. |

Nexon is a company offering a service, and as a company they should ensure the proper security of their client. I buy NX because i want to, but the point I am making regarding the purchasing of NX, is that the game is NOT free for most people; therefore, "defenders" can't use the argument that "Maplestory is a free game, deal with the glitches". |

| For one they have to sent some of their profit to korea, 2nd reason is that the game is not as popular as others such as WoW, a 3rd reason is that p2p games would almost always get more revenue than that of a game advertising in game items that needs rl money. |

[/quote] The fact that you only complain start complaining about Nexon the minute it affects you rather than notice it's already OBVIOUS flaws before this exploit shows how little you understand of the situation. Also, just because a game is more graphic-intensive does not mean that it's more complex when it comes down to it's foundation so get things straight before you try blowing a gasket cause right now this thread is a total joke. And to attack your bank analogy, how would you feel as a victim after finding out that the bank was under constant attacks by burglars with massive amounts of resources and firepower? That's basically what hacker communities are. If they didn't rollback and left the market with all that excess mesos running around, FM prices would sky-rocket. The reason why they did the roll-back was because they had to get rid of that mesos somehow since Hell-banning doesn't get rid of them, it just stalls them from coming into the market. |
