how'd you find out about maple?

So im curious about the way people were introduced to this game. I also wonder if those advertisements on MTV, newgrounds, or myspace actually worked. I was shown the game by a friend of mine in 8th grade, and he even made me the account i use today, just to get me started.

One of my friends said "Hey you should try Maplestory" I looked at it and... -_- I said "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS! IT LOOKS SO CHILDISH!" Earlier this summer, I took a few looks at it, downloaded it, and now I'm a addict.
