Before I make my argument I'd like to make a few a points and cite a statement made GM Hime 2 days ago on the nexon forums. GM Hime's Statement "*Updated 07.12.2010* Dear Maplers, As part of the resolution of the meso exploit, we will be removing all exploited mesos from the Maple economy. This also includes the removal of mesos from trade blocked players who may have innocently come across the exploited mesos. We greatly apologize for this but we must remove the exploited mesos to minimize its impact on the current and future state of the Maple economy. Legitimately earned mesos will not be affected as we have a clear indication of which mesos were exploited. Trade blocked players will be released upon this week�s update. Due to the inconveniences that have been caused, players who are released from the trade block will be compensated. Non-trade blocked players were not subjected to the investigation and will not be affected by this resolution. Thank you for your time and support as we strive to make MapleStory a safe place for all. -The MapleStory Staff- " With this statement, I thought its great that they were helping all those people who were being ripped off with the fake mesos. I was bummed out that started a server check the day before the ring quest was to expire, but it was a minor issue for me since I had leveled my brand new fp (and main) to level 53 and i had gotten the ring. I instead just went on my ranger and finished the chain of quests that are needed to unlock the crimsonwood trade quests, which took me 10 hours . The server check started before i could turn in my badges, so this morning when I logged on I went to redeem my badges, only to see that I couldn't exchange items. After I saw that, I thought, oh no they rolled back a whole day of terrible questing. I decided to login on my fp, who i leveled to 53 three days ago, and saw he was 23 levels lower than before and his ring was gone . Then I saw that the Ring Quest expired, and I fet so down I couldn't stand being online anymore. After that, I saw the stories of people who lost so many rings (my brother lost 3 of 4 rings), and I just couldn't believe how terribly nexon messed up. i then heard that Gm Hime has said there is no way they could extend the quest , which makes little sense seeing as how they extended the golden temple quests deadline (I'll explain most like how that works in a later comment if you ask). Now, there are thousands, possibly tens of thousands of people who lost rings because of the action taken by nexon. They did not even remove the hellban from all of th

I'm a novice programmer but even I know that at least 2 of these options are at least very simple ways to quell the army of POed gamers who wasted their lives only to have the ring taken away from then thanks to the Overlord.

looking for my old post edit: On the Nexon forums Hime posted the following "Sorry that is not something we can do on our side. Unfortunately, as much as we wanted to extend the event (and we definitely considered it) it was not possible. " As stated, the Nexon team supposedly "...definitely considered it." If a task is truly impossible, it would seem considering extending the event and telling everyone you considered extending the event to be pointless. This is where I think the Nexon team is telling a bold faced lie. Simply stating that the event was impossible to extend would have sufficed. An explanation would probably be demanded, but at least the community would know it was out of the team's hands. You can't consider to do something if you can't do it in the first place. And it makes little sense to do so besides pretending to be sympathetic to our problem

Aug... you guys understand that if the economy got effed up, you guys not getting your ring would be the least of your worries. Seriously, if they didn't roll-back, then people would be complaining about how Nexon didn't do anything to get rid of the excess mesos made in the exploit. Such whiny brats...

[/quote] You know, I blame the meso eploiters more than anything. But it's not hard for nexon to just extend the ring quest. I'd be willing to relevel my mule to get my ring back

I recently got home from visiting my relatives in a foreign country; something people often do during their summer vacations. I got home just in time to level a new character to 50. I don't appreciate such generalizations. There are specific cases for each individual, and Nexon has grossly generalized in their rollbacks. Actually, no, not even. I leveled my character to 50 BEFORE I makered fail power crystals. Yet I didn't get my power crystals back >:|. Edit: It seems like leveling has been rolled back without fail for some reason, yet "economically important factors" such as potion use, makering, and such hasn't been rolled back as far. I lost 30% on my bowmaster, yet the potions I used to get that 30% wasn't rolled back.
