You have to do it ONCE and don't initiate the quest again or you have to do it again =[

No. I've done it and gotten the medal twice. That's the only quest you don't have to do. But what really bugs me is when people get the mushking glove but they don't have the freaking medal. Once you get the glove, you have to go back and talk to the princess again and then the king.
