MS game download problem, help please!

I'm coming back to MS after a few months of inactivity and I had to download the new patch. When I went to download it, a message appeared saying "no internet connectivity detected". I went and uninstalled then reinstalled the program and but the same message still appeared. I do have internet connectivity, every other program works/downloads fine. The only problem I'm having is with MS. Help pleasee! How can I install the game client(yes, I have tried both automatically and manually installing the program).

Is your client version too old? Cause the patcher I believe can only patch one version lower.

That's what I think happened at first, so I completely wiped out the program. When I went to re-download the client completely, the same message appeared :/

no it can go at least to i think .85 and WTHZ my vista laptop aint working plz tell me why it cant run maple?
