Just get cruel ring. This is what everyone needs to know. IF YOU HAVE PASSIVE CRITICAL.. get a dam crit ring.. IF YOU DONT.. get cruel ring.. IF YOU'RE A MAGE, the decision is even more obvious.

After the revamp, it seems that the critical ring will be hands down better for dragon/dark knights due to the base critical and critical granted by new/updated buffs ... not to mention if you start bossing later and have a party member that buffs you with something additional that influences crit probability. In theory the critical ring is a tiny bit more "stable" currently (before the revamp) because you crit more often and for less of a damage increase each time. The only real advantage the cruel ring has is that extra attack point ... and that advantage will only stick around until the new system kicks in.

It gives 5% chance of 20% crit damage, and 1% of a insta-kill.

well, from what i gather, Cruel ring is good for heroes, since they have no skill that improves their passive crit. but for Pallys and Drks, its better to have Crit rings, since Drk got Dragon Judgement, and Blast have a 30% crit rate.

I completely agree with phoen1x, with nexon moving towards equipment that is more %based and giving all classes at least a very small passive critical (I'm pretty sure every class gets at least 5% base critical after the revamp) and who knows what other stuff nexon might put out later that will increase critical % (like maybe adding some strange gem drop that you use maker with and it adds 1%, 2%, or 3% critical to your gear depending on basic/intermediate/advanced refinement) ... to me, the higher the % the better the gear will be at a later level virtually ignoring the other static/non% based stats on the item. Even though the increase in critical damage (not chance of dealing a critical hit) has been removed from KMS's Critical rings, I still think, in the long run, they will be better than cruel rings, at least for Dragon/Dark Knights. I think there will be very few classes that benefit from the cruel ring more than they benefit from the critical ring. It still depends on getting a definite answer on the mathematics of the new critical system. Evidently Dragon Judgment gives DKs a +30% critical chance when maxed bringing it to 35% given the 5% base and then a critical ring on top of that brings it up to 45% critical. SE gives +15% critical rate with +30% min critical damage, so with SE, Dragon Judgment, and the critical ring, DKs will be doing critical attacks AT LEAST 60% of their attacks. The only other thing I have seen is the critical damage range being: mincritdamage=120% maxcritdamage=150% now there are many ways to look at that: I personally anticipate (this could be wrong) the max critical damage people will ever do will be 150% normal damage. since SE will then raise everybody's chance at performing a critical hit and cap the damage of said critical hit at 150% (since it will bring the minimum critical damage from 120% to 150% and leave the max critical damage at 150%) If you look at the cruel ring the same way, when you have SE, you will be getting 5% less chance of dealing a critical and have no extra damage afterward since your min critical damage is already 150% (the same as your max). BUT when you do not have SE, it would seem that the cruel ring gives you 5% less chance of dealing a critical but makes your critical damage range between 120% + 20% = 140% and 150% ... to my knowledge, nothing will raise max critical damage past 150%, other abilities and things like bowman/thief critical shot will only greatly improve the % chance they have of dealing critical damage to the point where they are almost dealing critical hits every attack, not raise the max critical damage past 150% this might get a bit complicated but I am going to try and show you some BASIC math that illustrates a few of these points ... at least for DKs Crit ring + dragon judgment + base crit = 45% critical rate, 120% to 150% critical damage (average 135% critical damage) = +15.75% total damage Cruel ring + dragon judgment + base crit = 40% critical rate, 140% to
