I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to mounting CDs and the such so I'd like to see if anyone here could help. I have a .dmg file on my XP running computer, and I would like to mount it to a CD to create a book disk for a Mac. Searching the web, I found that I should use Apple's Disk Utility or Toast, but since I'm on Windows, I didn't think it would be compatible. Any suggestions / shared knowledge will be greatly appreciated.

BobRGoogling ".dmg to .iso" brings up a lot of possible hits. One is a very nice looking program called "MagicISO" which has a nice writeup about how to do exactly what you want to do. Unfortunately it's a Shareware program that costs $30. I can't tell from the site whether the downloadable program is limited in any way however, so you might want to give it a try. It's probably the best solution for what you want: http://www.magiciso.com/FAQ/FAQ0011.htm If that doesn't work, you might want to try this one which converts a .dmg file to .iso which then can be burned to a CD with a normal Windows CD burning program. (Look at the info pages on the MagicISO site for more info about how to do that.) This unfortunately is a bit complicated, being a "command line" program you must run from a CMD prompt window. It appears to be free. http://www.blogsdna.com/3183/convert-dmg-to-iso-with-dmg2iso.htm

Are you allowed to reference *torrent* sites here? Cause if you you don't have a problem with such websites you can easily find MagicISO on said sites. If there is a problem I'll delete this comment.

Oh haha thanks for the help guys, I just finished installing MagicISO when I found out about the 300MB cap. The .dmg is 480MB, so I guess I'm going to have to try the other free version. Edit: Couple of steps ahead, I've managed to mount as an .iso yet my Mac won't boot from the CD. Half a day of trying to figure it out and hitting every snag in the way. eyeroll.gif 2nd Edit: CD rom of the Mac broke with the boot CD stuck inside. I give up, GOOD GAME lol.
