You know those instant noodle that we azns boil and scarf down by the seasons? Here's my spin on it. And it completely disregards the sodium packed soup base. Instant Comfort Noodles Evany Style 1. Boil Water, N00b. (or Chicken broth.) 2. Add Chicken Soup Base if you don't use the broth. 3. Spices: Pepper, dash of nutmeg, and honey 4. Add (frozen) corn 5. At boiling point dish in the noodles. Once they seem ready (DO NOT OVERCOOK THEM) use two forks and lift as much of the noodles above the pot so they can hit the cold air. I learned this tip for a Korean Reality show xD Iunno exactly HOW it makes it taste better, but it does. 6. Serve. (Optional) Before you add in the noodles you can crack an egg into the soup and poach it. TASTES GREAT. --- I have another recipe for this AWESOME alfredo, but I gotta give myself time to remember it. Ahhhhhhhh! I'm getting old T.T

So, I've tried 50k+ times to make mayonnaise, but it just dont work. Whatever recipe I use, it just looks like I'm trying to whisk water. I add the oil at a reaaaally slow pace, but it still doesn't thicken. I really liked cooking, but this has just made me hate it all together. I've never failed at making anything AT all before, but this has really just taken all inspiration to cook out of me. Help? D:

D: [/quote] Hmm, never tried to make mayonnaise before but here a few tips that might help: Before attempting to make mayonnaise, it is important to understand how mayonnaise works. To do that, a little background in food chemistry is needed. Mayonnaise is an emulsion of vegetable oil in lemon juice stabilized by the molecule lecithin, found in egg yolks. Mayonnaise does not taste all that oily even though most of it is oil. This is because every molecule of oil is surrounded by a microscopic amount of lemon juice. Thus, it is important to remember that mayonnaise is not a small amount of lemon juice blended into oil, but is instead, a large amount of oil blended into a tiny amount of lemon juice. The key to making mayonnaise is to avoid having the components of the emulsion separate back into the components. In cooking, this is called breaking. No matter how much you mix the oil and lemon juice together, it will always separate (break) into a gooey mess unless you include the egg yolk as a stabilizer. The lecithin in the egg yolk acts like detergent in dissolving both the oil and the lemon juice components. This is what keeps mayonnaise fluffy. You should not add any other liquid to the emulsion at this time. A lot of people make the mistake of adding the egg whites back in at this point, but this always results in a slimy goo rather than mayonnaise. From most of the recipes, it tells you to dribble the oil slowly, maybe your going too fast?

Best recipe I ever found online: Cajun Chicken Pasta! 12 ounces penne 3 tablespoons unsalted butter 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour 1 1/2 cups half-and-half 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese salt and pepper 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast 1 1/2 tablespoons cajun seasoning 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional) 2 teaspoons vegetable oil Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook penne according to package directions. Melt butter over medium heat. Add flour; stir for 1 minute. Add half-and-half; stir until thickened, 6 minutes. Remove from heat; add parmesan, salt and pepper. Cover. Pound chicken to 1/2-inch thickness. Rub Cajun seasoning and cayenne evenly over chicken. Warm oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook, turning once, until no longer pink in center, 6-8 minutes. Slice chicken. In a bowl, toss pasta with sauce. Top with chicken and serve.

(KEEP WHISKING) 7) As the mayonaise thickens, you can add more olive oil. Keep whisking until you get a nice thick substance. 8) Enjoy.

Yellow Fever Grill Cheese 2 Slices of bread 3 Slices of Kraft cheese 1 Inch of butter *If you prefer meat in your grilled cheese than ham is the best bet 1. Turn your stove on and set it at 5 or the medium temperature on your stove. Let it heat for a couple of seconds. Place a frying pan above the flames and let it sit for 10 seconds. Drop a 1/2 inch of butter on the frying pan and spread it around and let it melt. 2. Lay 1 slice of bread on a plate and place cheese and if you want ham on top of it. Lay another above it all. Lay the newly made sammich on the frying pan horizontally. 3. Leave it for a minute until one side has turned into a golden brown. 4. Flip and repeat step 3. 5. Take the elixer off the frying pan and eat. :D edit: haha I like this thread.
