Can anyone explain whats going on?

In order to stop duplicate and abused mesos, Nexon instead of banning the accounts, "blocked" them from trading/dropping/storing etc...

Seems like a fair temporary solution. This way the 99% of people that simply play the game and don't cheat or spend their time trying to scam a profit in the FM can continue playing with no issues. I have no doubt that the unfortunate innocent people caught by this will eventually be cleared. Looks like my shop character may be impacted, but oh well, its a game and things will get sorted out.

Apparently some hackers exploited a meso duplicating hack, which got them billions of mesos within a few seconds from "depositing" negative mesos in the medal donation npc, thus instantly gaining max mesos. These hackers went around the fm buying all kinds of items, no matter what price, and also selling those items underpriced in the mts to get fast nx. Nexon had a emergency server check to block all trades/drop of people(hellban) who had "illegit mesos". Unfortunate people, who had their items bought by people who with "illegit mesos", were drawn into this as well. I got hellbanned on my account. I hope nexon resolves this quickly and doesn't go on a prema banning spree >_>.

Actually, I probaly would have done the same thing they did. Stop the spread of illegal meso and save the economy and then figure out what to do with the problem from there. Makes sense to me.
