I'm so dam mad right now, I just finished watching his dam interview. First of all, we don't care if you make the names sound more Asian, he should have just stuck to the NORMAL names so people would understand it more. Second of all, if he wanted to make it more "Asian", make the dam characters Asian. NO need to make up stupid names for the characters. He is so stupid, he has no experience what so ever. His old movies, Lady in the Water and The Happening were mocked and dreadful. Why did they let him make the movie, dammit. /end rant

imo the stupidest thing he did was with the firebenders where they can't create their own fire unless they were strong and the ending where aang was supposed to be controlled by or combine with the ocean spirit and pwn everyone BUT HE DIDN'T T~T

[/quote] Bad movies are bad enough, but when you screw up a movie that was based on a book/show (which is nearly impossible not to do, apparently) then people get real mad. I'm not Asian, and I don't like anime, but the few episodes of the cartoon Avatar I've seen, I liked. And hearing how many things got screwed up makes even me real mad.

[/quote] I guess that's true I mean Avatar: The Last Airbender was a pretty interesting show I mean it was done in the style of anime, it was influenced by "Asian" culture but it was still an American cartoon and a good one at that.

Bottom line: Shyamalan takes too many artistic licenses. Tries to "make his mark" repeatedly but fails each time. I think this man is insane.

[/quote] Asians aren't really in the movie industry in America so when there's a chance that we can be represented but are instead being replaced by a white actor it's a let down for us. Also this is most likely a deal with every race and their own characters, such as how people were complaining how the main actor of Prince of Persia wasn't Persian but white. Anyway I haven't seen Avatar and despite all the bad ratings and comments toward it I just have to watch it. I know I'm in for a let down but its just something some people gotta watch. Also I heard that the main actors were mostly white but the background characters were asian, is that true?

Fire benders are Asian.
