Do AP % scrolls render perfect (or near) weapons pointless?

I hope I'm wrong, so if there's a flaw in what I've gathered, it'll be more than a relief! The AP scrolls can break equipment, correct? Yet, we can still scroll our perfect items with them; however, that opens risky doors. If we want to maximize our weapons, we'd have to start with scrolling with AP scrolls and THEN with attack ones, as that would make the most sense. Doing it in reverse order would be the equivalent of using White Scrolls for your first few slots rather than the last few or several. By extension of that, are those of us with perfect weapons as of this time period pretty much screwed, since we cannot capitalize on them (efficiently)?

I believe that % scrolls increase in effectiveness the less slots you have, so for optimal upgrades you would have to use them after all your slots were gone anyway. So no, you aren't screwed. Not 100% on this though.

[/quote] If you're right about the effectiveness being increased with lesser slots, that multiplies how bad it is, rather than making it better, if I apply the same logic as in my OP.

I meant that having less slots increases the effictiveness. As in, using random percantages, upgrading a 7 slots overall would give you +5% dex, whereas upgrading a 0 slot overall would give you +10%. I'm not on KMST and I don't read up on this stuff much but I believe it is something along those lines.

There's 90% chance of an item not breaking if you pay for those scrolls, 70% chance if you don't. 90% of your equips will stay.

Even if the effectiveness of the scrolls increase, they can still break the item, so applying the same logic as I did in my original post, it doesn't solve much. I know I don't want to risk breaking my 9x attack claw... :-S I don't get it. Are people just supposed to risk breaking things that cost them several, several billions?
