Can i get the Explorer's Cruel Ring with an aran?

| 1. No you need an explorer 2. If you're getting the ring for your lvl 80 Aran, I recommend you go with the critical ring over the cruel ring. |

This makes a huge difference when deciding which ring to pick. |

With 200% crit damage, Critical is better. Edit: ninja'd |

| i tried the math and also looked at the "everything you need to know" thread which looks promising. if you find it wrong, don't just say it. show me the 'corrected' formula so i can work it out too. last time i looked at the everything thread there were some numbers i couldnt figure out where they came from. in a week ill have some time to sit down and figure it all out to my satisfaction. itll take me that long just to get my second ring. XD i tried the math 2 ways. one way had the crit ring as better. the other way had the cruel ring better. stacking crit %dmg made one ring better than the other. and in think the ring's crit dmg stacks on an aran's crit dmg. this makes a difference. if the thread did calc DPM wrong, General, what's the corrected formula? id really like to know. in a week i'll put the forumla into excel and work it out for myself. |

| Its the same as the one "everything you need to know" did, except change 100 to 200. chance of no crit*(overswing + FB without crit)+chance of a crit*(overswing +FB with ALL crits.) Base: 0.3*(100+170*2+240*2+700)+0.7*[(100+200)+(170+200)*2+(240+200)*2+(700+200)] = 2460%. CritRing: 0.2*(100+170*2+240*2+700)+0.8*[(100+210)+(170+210)*2+(240+210)*2+(700+210)] = 2628%. CruelRing: 0.25*(100+170*2+240*2+700)+0.75*[(100+220)+(170+220)*2+(240+220)*2+(700+220)] = 2610%. Critical and Cruel Ring are close enough, and Cruel Ring also has a 1 wep att to make up for it. With SE however, Critical Ring is definitely better. |
