So I found out that my crush doesn't like me back

Last night I found out that the person I've been liking for the past 4 months doesn't like me back. I basically got my friend to 'investigate' by asking her questions and stuff. And it turns out that she doesn't like me back. For the past month or so she hasn't been talking to me for a while. She was basically keeping all conversations with me to a minimum and it was always me starting the conversations and they never lead anywhere. She said to my friend because she was doing that because she was 'doing me a favor' because she knew I liked her and she wanted me to get over her easily. But this is where I got confused... I honestly thought she liked me before when I first met her. We would talk on MSN everyday about anything, random stuff. We would nudge each other if we didn't say anything for over 5 minutes. We talked about things that actually mattered, not those half hearted conversations about 'so how's school'. We would try and not be the first one to initiate the conversation so we'd go hours before one of us finally cracks. Those were the good old days. Now, we hardly talk. And especially after last night, I won't be talking to her for a while... So all of that meant nothing to her? All the late nights we had talking to each other? All to be forgotten? It's gonna take me a while to get over her, but it feels a lot better to at least know if she liked me or not. Because the past few weeks I've been relatively depressed about my feelings for her. But now, at least I know. It actually surprises me that I'm not as depressed as I would've expected, but it actually feels so much better to know if she likes me or not. Because before I kept on questioning whether she liked me or not and that's why I got all depressed. Actually it's more of the fact that she doesn't like anyone else. I'm glad she isn't interested in anyone else, because if she was, I'd be way too depressed. But seriously, I don't get how we can go from talking everyday all night to completely ignoring each other... I really liked her too, it's going to be hard getting over her... Sorry for that I just had to get that off my chest (: So Basil, do tell how you people got over past crushes?

People talking a lot to each other doesn't necessarily mean they like each other . It's what's known as being good friends . However I do believe it's a bit harsh for her to stop talking to you . Even if she doesn't like you in that way, she did like you as a friend and that's something good . I hope everything works out for you in the end .
