Major laptop trouble in vista

Hey, I have a asus g51x (http://kazprom-image.s3.amazonaws.com/48156_w640_h640_1619p5002.jpg). Today when I tried to start my laptop up, it didn't work. I got stuck on a screen with the Asus Logo and intel on the bottom right corner. I cannot go into safe mode or do anything else. On the side note, on waiting on the screen I get this Reboot and select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key. I looked around the web and discovered that I need a recovery cd which I dont have. is there any way to solve this problem I really need this laptop :[. PS:I didn't tamper around with any files or anything on the laptop. It sounds like you're running into a "boot device not found" error, which means the computer can't find Windows to load it up and start the computer. Generally the reason for that is that the hard drive may have died. If your hard drive is accessible (like behind a door on the bottom so it can be easily removed), try unplugging it, then plugging it back in to see if it's a "loose connection" causing the problem. Otherwise you'll probably have to take the computer in for service and have the drive checked out and possibly replaced. If the computer isn't too old, it may still be under warranty, in which case Asus should fix it for you. Check their web site for info about the warranty, and they may be able to check the laptop's serial number online to tell you if it's still covered.

@Above Thanks for the help. I tryed to burn a recovery disk, but it didn't work. I was then going to put the wipe for vista onto a USB then boot BIOS and start it from there, but my dad said he can get his friend to fix it so I might be fine.

Thanks, my dad just got it back from his friend I tried it so it doesn't work so I doubt it'll work. Looks like i'll have to go to best buy and fix it -__-
