Question is the title =) EDIT: wow, hella lot of ppl actually think it would work =) (i do believe in it too, although its rare) which many of you guys have the same opinion, but i never knew that so many people would be on the same "level" as me xD

I know alot of people who found their boyfriend/girlfriend online, actually met and had a long distance relationship. I know one couple that actually met on maplestory, he was american, she was from finland, he moved to finland and they got married. So it can have a happy ending, but most of the time it doesn't.

I believe in it, and I believe that it can work. In a way it's actually beneficial, because you get to judge someone by their words and thoughts before their appearances, unless it's something like Chatroulette or eHarmony.

I doubt a serious relationship will branch off of online dating, unless perhaps the two people live relatively close to each other and can meet in real life... It lacks a physical bond. :B

Hmm. My online girlfriend and I will be celebrating our two year anniversary next week. It is true, like other posters have suggested, that the lack of a physical element can feel difficult at times, but when the person you're e-dating is perfect in your eyes, no amount of time is too long to wait. I love her and I have never once regretted my decision. Because I love her. <3

Haha, yeah, I do. Online dating seems like an option for me, a shy-like-hell person. And I didn't even attempt dating. You just meet someone who sounds awesome person, and get slowly known to him. And then talk all day long on Skype. @_@

I'm conflicted. I don't believe you can really date someone online. There's no comparison to dating in real life. If there are frequent or semi-frequent meet ups then it's ok... I donno. I think it's nice to get to know people online sometimes, but I think ultimately I like it better when you're in person, even if it's easier to talk online cuz it's less confrontational. What's the point of dating if you can't get along in person? :]

I already posted here about my success with online dating, but I should mention that I only met my fiancee in person after 4 years of an online (including webcam later on) and on-the-phone relationship. It wasn't very difficult for us, but, on the other hand, we were also best friends. I imagine it might be a challenge for people who crave the physical connection to last for years in a purely online relationship if it is merely romantic.
