Why do people make irrelevant attacks on your grammar and spelling in an internet fight? If what you can say is understandable, why is it an end-of-the-world problem if you misspell one word, or forget to put in a semi-colon? (Unless of course, the fight is about grammar and spelling). While I've almost never been attacked during a fight about the way I type, it still really ticks me off when I see someone use it against a person who's actually making a very valid point.

They're insulting their intelligence by attacking their grammar. This is usually due to: a) The point made was outstanding and the opposition had no other rebuttals b) The point made was terrible and a simple attack on grammar would suffice compared to a paragraph dedicated to poor reasoning (and putting up with reading rubbish). c) Insulting others makes you feel bigger, and poor grammar is easy pickings. d) They feel that they are doing a service for the world by improving the language skills of others.

Because I prefer being able to read posts quickly and getting the point of it. Instead of going through a paragraph trying to decipher words then read it through. How am I supposed to know that someone is making a valid point when I can't even read their post?
