its called prypiat, not chernobyl, chernobyl is the nuclear plant. you guys should really check out bangkok or other places in thailand. many kids begging in the street, most likely owned by a syndicate. the story goes that these kids are kidnapped and then transported to a home or some desolated area. the people who kidnapped them will make them beg for money and if they do not meet their quota for the day, they will be beaten. the children will go to extreme measures to avoid this punishment, they will cry and follow strangers to get some money out of them, some would even cause harm to their selves to get more sympathy. hurr |

I've lived there. And really, Bangkok is still in much better shape in terms of poverty than many other countries, where what you described is more likely. I'm saying Bangkok because of the politics involved right now. |
yeah cant really talk about that since ive only been to bangkok a few times for some volunteer work for asean, well another depressing place is the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, Phnom penh, it is a museum to show what happened in the khemer rouge rule, where approximately 2 million cambodians where killed. the atmosphere was really dead and mellow, i just wanted to get out of there because my hairs were starting to stand.
