Why GMS will receive the balance patch if KMST passes it.

| Problem is, GMS does not have the "green light" to change any data concerning skills, and whatever KMS wants them to implement must be implemented in terms of patches. How do I know this? THis was in a Q and A directly to Nexon and Wizet way back when Maplestory was still in development for the North American Release. It was restated once Nexon inherited the entire company from the Wizet branch. To sum it up, GMS (and all the other branches of Nexon) is allowed to do the following: 1) Create their own new features that does not affect the overall gameplay mechanics of MapleStory. This includes the implementing of NLC, the 12 atk/20m.atk pots, Crimsonwood area, etc. [must go through verification with Nexon Korea] 2) Host their own events 3) Create and sell cs items for a reasonable price. [must go through verification with Nexon Korea] 4) All administrative abilities for Maplestory. This means patches, maintenances, etc. 5) Implementing of features from other Nexon branches. Meaning, they are allowed to implement features from JMS, CMS, TWMS, etc. [Does not require verification from Nexon Korea but requires verification from the branch they are copying. 6) Giving free cash shop items (with any tweaks). 7) For skills that require skillbooks, the skillbooks that are available via drop by a specific monster must be implemented. However, with permission from Nexon Korea, they are allowed to sell skillbooks via cash shop. [must go through verification with Nexon Korea] 8) Creation of new NPCs as long as their purpose does not involve an already-existing quest or a job-related feature. 9) Replacement of NPCs into different areas in the same town [must go through verification with Nexon Korea] 10) Creation of Party Quests and Quests that do not affect any already existing quest sequences. [must go through verification with Nexon Korea] They are prohibited to do the following: 1) Unless Nexon Korea allows them otherwise, Nexon America must implement all gameplay-changing features, including New jobs, Balance Patches, EXP curves, Significantly new equipment (meaning durability items [Nexon America was against implementing this but look where it is now?], and % items), job advancements, mainstream quests, requirements of skillbooks for specific skills (aside from basic), etc. 2) Significant changing of already-existing maps. Portals or objects that are GMS-exclusive in KMS-existing maps are allowed to be implemented. 3) New significant additions to any existing continents. This means anything you can see on the World Map. 4) Changing of skill appearances. 5) Monster drops, HP, MP, spawn rate, spawn area [excluding event monsters] 6) Several other tweaks not really worth mentioning. Also, whether you choose to accept it or not, this balance patch really did balance everything. 1) Jobs that used to suck at bossing and would be entirely useless as an attacker at all significant bossing events (mages) are no longer bad at bossing 2) Jobs that cannot mob well ar |

| Ah, good? lol Edit: But in all seriousness I am kind of looking forward to this new revamp. Aside from the genesis cool down *shakes fist*. Also I took a look at some of the mob changes... man so Transformed yeti's now have 99k hp and give nearly 2k exp =/ But on the whole I guess this is the 'true' balancing patch, what you see being changed here is what I believe anyway, what each class was initially intended to be. Also i'm so pumped about the EXP change ^^ they're finally making it easier to level up >_> took them a while. Yes the game has undeniably become easier to level but anyway since patch 0.04 or so (when I started playing) it will became much more easier to level xD |

She is able to boss with a lot of usefulness now. Mostly because she can hit when bosses use cancel weapon attack, and because her damage via bossing is similar to the new DBs damage via bossing, even a little more. Thats right, bishops are stronger than dual bladers now. Isnt that surprising :o @Above I'm not sure if that's sarcasm or seriousness, but while it may be obvious to you, I have seen countless people say that it won't come to GMS, it shouldn't come to GMS, GMS probably wont get it even if KMS has it, etc. In fact, I see a lot more than 25% of the people here in basil thinking that way. @2 Above I meant faster trainers than they were. every single factor about shadowers' main damages were increased, including a 4hit boomerang step and assassinate, as well as assaulter. @Below Unfortunately, there is only one way to implement the 5th job. 2.147bil is the maximum number that most games can hold. Maplestory is one of those games. To make a boss with >2.147bil HP, they divide it into parts. Therefore, to implement a level range higher than 200 requires an entire revamping of exp requirements for every single level starting from level 1. The exp doesn't increase in equal implements either. Going from 199 to 200 cannot be 2.147bil EXP as it is now. It must be around 1bil EXP. That is far too easy to obtain. Many people can do that in one day. |

| Well, if this is the case why did we get Neo City and not follow JMS's example? JMS did get a whole new part of Zipangu... On the other hand, I'm glad useless skills are to be taken out. |

| [quote] doctadre : How about.. stop crying about GMS and go play KMS then. [/quote] Am I crying? No. Can I play KMS? Yes. Do I understand Korean well enough to play KMS? No. Do I like this patch? Yes. Was your post useful in any way? No. @Above Nexon America wanted neo Tokyo. Japan developed Neo Tokyo. However, before Nexon America implemented Neo Tokyo, Nexon Korea took Neo Tokyo and made it weaker. since Nexon America is obliged to implement what Nexon korea implemented and not what Japan implemented (Korea Nexon > Japan Nexon), we got City instead of Tokyo. |

[/quote] Ah, while I agree with what you said and I know why you think that this thread is pointless, but this huge thread was actually a reply to someone in a different thread that I made and kind of went overboard with. I go overboard with things when my mind is focused on something else. I don't look at what I'm typing really, and I just keep on extending my post. In the end, it was long enough to be a thread, and made enough sense, so I decided to post it. @2 above What above said. I am Korean, I used to live in Korea until I was 5, so naturally I have a Korean Resident Registration Number. In case that does not work, my brother (here comes the complicated part) who has a sister who is also my sister who is married to my sister-in-law's older brother quit maple already and I have access to his account. |
