Yea pwned and owned are also interchangeable. Back in the time of the Internet Crusades there arose the believers of Owned and Pwned, but we all seem to live harmoneously now. Also, adding "Noob, Nub, or(my favorite) Nublet after Pwned or Owned makes it all the more fun! Not only are you degrading someone you'll never meet in real life, your also boosting your own self-esteem, now go get them little timmy,....er I mean Redsox. :D

it all started when ppl would misspell owned since a p is next to the o ppl would type pwned and it has came into modern meaning and pure ownage even though it originated as a typo
