Clothes for Dinner

Specifically, high school end-of-season sports dinners. Mine is today for Track and Field and I have no idea what to wear. For Wrestling everyone wore dress pants, ties, etc. This is my second dinner ever and nobody told me what to wear (I was told to wear the tie by the wrestling captain) I dont want to be the only one wearing dress pants and a tie, or the only one wearing a tshirt and shorts... Is there like a "rule" on what you're supposed to wear to these things?

i fully came into this thread expecting someone to ask whether they could eat clothes for dinner i would wear my fancies, not my high school sports uniform lol

@audio not really uniform, just stuff everybody gets for being on the team. Stuff you can wear out in public anywhere

I think you should wear the tie anyway, because it's a dinner. And why should it be different from the other? But please don't wear the T-shirt and shorts!

Doesn't necessarily have to be all formal. Just look decent, don't wear shorts or a t-shirt.
