Could you "prepare" for said adventurer rings?

Anyone know if you could prepare a level 49 adventurer, and level it just once to get the ring?

What if you have like a lv 20 warrior? o.o Would they make him level to 50 or level up 30 times? And for the matter, what about a Lv 10 warrior?
