Good maple leaf deal?

I traded 9k maple leaves for a 1str 22att newspaper sword (6 slots u/h) and 10k for 6 att green mittens (0 slots u/h) Was it worth it? And if i plan to resell, could i have made a better profit then selling the leaves?

Would i have made more selling 19k leaves for pure mesos? I think they sell for around 300 mesos each, which is why i traded
