I've realized that I've gotten tired of most of my "friends". One I held onto for a really long time became such a horrible person IMO (and I probably became one in hers) that I told her I don't consider her a friend anymore. Her cousin committed suicide a few days ago and I made a joke about it because I was angry at her for something that happened prior and I got all this BS about being respectful. So now, I've decided I'll become a cold person. Focus on school and get rid of all my friends. I've gotten lonlier this past month and I can't bear it anymore. I'll just get rid of everyone and let her replace me. This is my new schoolyear resolve, what's yours? EDIT: If I find some people I can actually trust, they might become my friends, otherwise I've given up on this "Have lots of friends so you can rely on them" thing.

Be and do what makes you happy. If becoming a "bad person" will make you happy, do it. Your happiness should be the governing factor in your life, far above everyone else's.

Like what the others said, do what makes you happy. I'm rather paranoid of my "friends" because I was bullied and used in middle school, so in a way I understand. Thinking of being antisocial is kind of a good thing, makes a person more cautious about who they trust and such. Not many friendships last forever, and (in my opinion) there's a fine line between growing up and turning into a different person. I suppose what I do is I enjoy the time I have with the people I'm currently friends with, while at the same time knowing/waiting for things to go bad. If things do, I try not to regret much. There could be a number of reasons why, but not everyone is like that/those ex-friend(s) of mine. Let things go in tiny steps, test things out and give little bits of friendship and trust instead of going all out. There should eventually be someone who can 'pass the tests' again, or accept all the bits and pieces of trust. As for my new school year thingy, I'd like to stop being so depressed/bitter/angry all the time. It dropped my grades a frickload.

I'll just leave this here. OT : I wouldn't go THAT far, you should still have some friends. I've thought the same way as you at one point in my life, and it was the most terrible point in my life. I just don't understand why you would put yourself through that.

What could you have possibly gone through that makes you think your friends "constantly hurt" you and make you "become abandoned by all your friends" ? You're only in 7th grade; Jesus. Kids are so freaking emotional.. GL getting a job after high school with absolutely no people skills at all.. or being in college and having to do a group project.. and it IS coldhearted to make fun of your friend's cousin right after he died. It seems to me like you won't have a choice to "get rid of your friends".. they're going to leave you whether you like it or not because you obviously don't care about anyone but yourself. BTW, "good" friends, (the ones that you can trust and rely on), the ones you're seeking.. they don't become friends with people who don't deserve it. if you can't be a good, you won't get a good friend. it's as simple as that.

I have a close-band of intellectual friends that are similar to me. I used to be cold-hearted and hateful until one day a small child fell and grazed his knee badly. I felt sorry for him so i helped him up and took him to his school nurse. He thanked me and i felt incredibly proud of myself for the first time in my life. I try lend a helping hand as often as i can (Sometimes i do get mad, and i do admit i have a thing against Christianity). In a way i'm happy you have decided to lose trust in the idea of 'lots' of friends. A friend is someone who you would risk life and limb for, who you can sit with and talk for hours with and never get bored; anyone else is merely an acquaintance. Although, don't give up on being nice, i'll be happy to go through my entire life being nice to people and only to have dirt kicked in my face as a return, for with my death i don't aim to be accepted by those around me, i just want to be able to accept myself.
