| It depends on which date you restore the system to. Reformatting your computer will delete everything though. Or at least everything that wasn't there when you first bought your computer. Or I think that's how it works anyway. I could be wrong. |

| Reformating removes them. System Restore does not. Viruses have gotten smart. You're better off downloading Malwarebytes or Combofix, or taking to a professional. |

| What's telling you that you have a lot of viruses anyways? It sounds like you got one of those rogues that say everything is infected and try to get you to buy their crap. If so, you could get rid of it by running a scan with Malwarebytes. And System Restore only monitors certain files on your HDD not your entire drive. So no, a SR will not remove viruses. |
