| So my brother was playing games on IE and I usually use Firefox. When I got on the computer that part under the bar it said "Kelogger Unistall Now before its too late" So I clicked uninstall and it didnt do anything. I've tried Googling but I cant find a proper answer. Anyone know whats going on? Is this a real keylogger? |

|
BobR : @Horizon- what you saw was most likely a "Flash popup" from a rogue advertisement like those that have been hitting a lot of sites that use paid ads lately (like Basilmarket among a lot others). It tries to fake you into clicking on something in the scary warning it gives so it can download something onto your computer that IS a "trojan". If Malwarebytes isn't picking up anything however, you may have "dodged a bullet" and somehow managed to avoid having it infect your computer. Be sure you did what Readers suggested, click on the "Update" tab in Malwarebytes and download the latest update BEFORE scanning so you'll be sure Malwarebytes can find all the newest trojan (keylogger) varieties. If you didn't do that, update it, then run Malwarebytes again. (Also, couldn't be sure from your message before, but it's good to run these scanners SEPARATELY so they can do a better job scanning. That is, run Malwarebytes, THEN run ESET.) Are you saying you're STILL seeing something with a crown next to it on your computer, even though Malwarebytes says it's clean..? @MrSteev- the word(s) you've been searching for are "Format and Reinstall".
Thanks Bob I just updated Malware and did a scan again. |

| Haha, people are so easily fooled. I think it's pretty obvious that there was no keylogger untill you clicked uninstall. |
