Does anyone try to have lucid dreams?

Has anyone ever accomplished dreaming lucidly? Its a subject I've found interesting. But its more common in younger aged teens, and I'm too old to try to be too successful, plus I'm lazy. If you accomplished it, what were your reality checks, how often do you experience these dreams, and how did you first start having lucid dreams?

I have them about half the time naturally. There's no reality check, I just randomly realize "Oh yeah, I'm dreaming" Rarely do I do anything about it though; sometimes I'll start bending reality but not often.

I'd like to stress this again: How can people NOT have lucid dreams? It's not that difficult O_O.

A few months after I started up my dream diary I had my first lucid dream. It was so interesting eeer... *interactive* ... *wink wink*

I've had a couple. Both of which were natural; I just realized "I'm dreaming", but the longest I've been able to hold one is about.. 5 minutes, maybe.

No matter how much I don't want to be shot in my dreams; I still get shot. I've always wished for lucid dreams.

once I realize, I try to make the dream into something naughty, but I can never get it to completely work

So its random? I know there are methods to try to start forcing lucid dreams and I'm curious if anyone has tried them.

Your mind isn't exactly sound when you're asleep, and the reality your brain creates feels natural because it's self-imposed. Practice, dream diaries, just google it: There's tons of methods.

Most of the time you don't even know you're there.... I once tricked myself into think it WASN'T a dream when it was in a dream....

Do you remember and control every one of the 500+ dreams you have in any one typical night? No? Then you "can't control [your] own mind." OT: I always just suddenly realize that I'm dreaming just before I wake up and have this fuzzy bit before I go back to sleep where I lucid dream. I can never hold on to it very long though... after a time I either go back to sleep or it ends up being a non-dream and just a random story I play out in my mind.. It tends to be random for me though, I don't really control it.. It happens in about half the dreams I remember and I've had them for as long as I could remember, though I didn't realize it was lucid dreaming til a couple years ago when we made dreamlogs for Science o.o
