High CPU usage in Windows 7

Hello everyone~ This has been bugging me for a while. I run an Alienware laptop which perfectly runs top-notch games like Crysis and Bad Company 2 and MW2. However, lately (since the latest few patches) MapleStory has been ranging from 36-60% CPU usage. Now this a new thing for me, I know for a fact that my Laptop isn't broken because everything else runs fine. I'm just wondering if anyone else has been experiencing High MapleStory CPU usage in Windows 7. Before half of you start screaming "NEED more RAM" please don't. I probably know more about computers than you then. All other comments however ARE appreciated so feel free to drop in and comment on what you think about this. Also I added a Poll so I can get a clear view if this has something to do with the latest patch or not. Optional: when voting leave a comment and leave your computers specs, OS and what you voted for. Thanks in advance, I really hope this is going to answer my question.

MapleStory takes 20% of CPU and i use Windows 7 64bit specs: Intel i5 2.67 GHz 6GB ram Radeon HD 3850

3.00Ghz dual core, Maple uses 30~34% =/ Quite high IMO

My little laptop goes up to 60% CPU usage on Maplestory. O_o It is because Maplestory is a very high resource game, and to be honest, I don't think it is well built.

It uses that much because it creates a virtual computer with xp.

i have windows 7 mine goes to like 80% but its cuase i dont have enough ram (1gb lol)

From what I can see, alot of people seem to have this problem. I can see some people with crappy pc's have the problem but thats quite normal. As for ShadyCleric, you're running an i5 at 20% capacity. Which clearly shows theres something wrong with maple. However maybe we need more results to see if its acctually MapleStory's incompatibility with Windows 7 that's causing this.

I think the compatibility problems between windows vista and 7 and MapleStory has something to do with it, because i have the same problem. My brother's XP desktop runs MapleStory smoothly, even while multi tasking and having other programs up. I think the compatibility is the problem. OT: MS takes around 47% from my memory

Erm, its bad that it focuses on Maple when you play it? Just took a look at it, I have about 40 % when I m just on Maple, then i started Fallout3 to see wheter/how much it chages and it dropped to 20%. Imho if your percentage is high, it doesnt mean there is a problem.

Intel i7 processor 6 gb of ram nvidia gtx 260 uses around 0-2% of cpu lol

Have you taken into account your background processess? Maybe you're in too many crowded channels?
