Unable to connect, port issues?

| Hey. I has a error. I can't connect. Precise right? Anyway, I get multiple errors, 'You have disconnected from login server', 'Trouble logging in...at the site', 'Error: 10011 (or something).' I recently changed to a new ISP, and received a new modem with it. IT CAN'T CONNECT. At my friends house my laptop works fine and no comps in my house can connect either. Also, another friend on a similar plan has the same problem. I used my old router, it connected fine, however as its not entirely compatible with the ISP every 1/2 hour they ran a check through my account (for maintenance or something) and I disconnected. So I restored factory settings and edited it to connect. It works fine now, with everything except Maple. Now, to skip the rest of my life story I has a problem: My Router isn't detecting any of Nexons ports for games. How do I fix? Open ports, forward or otherwise? Thanks in advance. Edit: Also, the Router is a 'Thomson TG585v7' |

 | Holy Mazola..! I didn't think they gave out modem/routers like this to consumers any longer. This thing looks like it requires a minimum of a CCNE level certification to be able to configure it. The "default" firewall security level should allow Maple to run. No outgoing ports are blocked, and "Game and Application Sharing" is allowed, which means the game should work ok. The separate Firewall manual seems to indicate the only other firewall security level available on the consumer grade router is "Disabled", which is probably not a good setting to use on a regular basis, but it might be worth trying it to see if that will allow Maple to run. Set it back to "Standard" for regular use. Maple Story normally doesn't require ANY kind of special setup. The ports it uses are normally not blocked, and no "port forwarding" should be needed. When you said everything else works fine now, what exactly have you tried with it besides Maple Story..? (In case they didn't give you the manuals with the router, the links I used are: User Manual: http://www.thomsonbroadbandpartner.com/getfile.php?(i)(d)=5349 Firewall Manual: http://www.thomsonbroadbandpartner.com/getfile.php?(i)(d)=6317 ) <-- Take out the () |

All worked, but no internet games except Combat Arms and Maplestory. They both failed and had the same error, though I think its because they're both Nexon games. My firewalls are all turned off, Comodo, Windows and the Routers. I've also reset it multiple times and messed with the ports. My net is unlimited and downloads at 150 kbps but with torrents i can hit 700 kbps. And I can ping the nexon websites just fine, the round trip took something around 270 ms. All computers in the house dont work with it but I can occasionally log on after about 20 retrys so I can't have been IP blocked. Edit: My friend on the same ISP plan and different router doesn't work either. But my old router with this ISP and previous ISPs configuration used to work. Perhaps theres a problem with the ISP updating the router? |
