My mom is forcing me to learn Chess.

... and the tutor is scheduled to visit me next Friday. I show absolutely no interest in Chess whatsoever! I know the basics and I've played the game with some of my friends before. I won some, I lost some, but the game just didn't feel appealing to me! Even if I started developing an interest, I could have just taken internet lessons instead! I tried convincing my mom that I didn't want to take lessons, but she just wants me to try it out . I have tried it out about 5-10 times out of boredom! EDIT: Whenever I try to convince her, she either ignores me or tells me to shhh . If I shout at her, I'm sure to get grounded. =_=" What can I do to furthur convince my mom to cancel the Chess session?

Learn chess! At least sit through and pay attention to the lesson. It may be a game stereotyped as "uncool" and "for nerds" but in actuality its a fun game. Internet lessons in general kind of suck. Take the real life ones and get some practice. You'll like it in no time.

[/quote] I agree that it won't help me, but where I live, Chess isn't that queer. I have so many other hobbies to keep me occupied: Flash programming, Piano, (soon to be) Music sequencing, Tae Kwon Do, and Hap Ki Do! She's just asking for too much out of me. I don't know why my mom wants me to learn Chess, but she also says my little cousins are learning it too. Of course, I'm talking about little kids now. =_=
