I need help with a haircut.

Hey Basil, I haven't had a haircut in a long time ( a year now) and my hair is getting pretty long. I'm going to get my haircut today, probably in an hour or two and I'm not very good at choosing haircuts because in the past I just always told the barber a number and they cut it for me. This time around I want to actually get a hairstyle. So I was wondering if you guys could recommend some hairstyles. My preference is that it's short (but not like buzz cut status). Also I would prefer it not to be "spiky" and to have bangs. Help is appreciated. :D P.S. I think I have a big forehead, not sure though. o.o
