"Get a life" The fail in MS.

So I was riding the boat to Orbis from Ellinia (on my lv 140 evan) out of boredom, I figured maybe I'd meet some nice people and have a nice conversation and maybe make a buddy or 2 along the way, but I was so wrong. I sat in my chair and as usual I waited for someone to say something to me "Hey" I mimicked him and added an additional "a" after his "y". "Wow...140 Evan, is that your main?" Me: Yeah...for now it is, I just need to refund my other characters. I could tell he was typing and as he did I took note of his equips, all nx and he was only lv 47, though through-out my experience of playing maple, I didn't just him by his level, and as I usually did I silently assumed he had a higher level, he "deserved" the same "respect" that someone as experienced or more experienced than I should get. "What other levels do u have?" Me: Uhh... 147 Dark Knight, 137 Arch Mage, 91 Marauder, 77 Aran, I'm going to start refunding them so I can do more than spam quake at gallops all day. "Wow, you need to get a life" That hit me like a ton of bricks. "I've been playing MS every since it came out, and this is my highest level, I always buy nx and 2x and I can never get any higher, you probably don't have a gf" By the time he said this Ellinia to orbis was crowded. People sat around and watched as the lv 140 No life argued with a lv 47, who has a life, a girl friend, and straight A's...but he's online every day, he always buys nx clothes and 2x, and he constantly trains on 2x events. Me: "So...you spend a bunch of money on Nx every week, you play every day and always during 2x events, but you have a life?" He shut up after that. The boat ride ended and we all split up, I did make a few friends that day, people who thought the same way that I did, we found common ground and we're still friends to this day, as for the lv 47, he proceeded to whisper me stupid comments about all the stuff he does with this girlfriend that he recorded and posted all over the internet. I couldn't help but laugh out loud. Just another loser... =========================================================================================== Summary I met a kid. I told him the lvs of my characters (after I was asked) -147/140/137/91/77 (DrK/Evan/A.M./Marauder/Aran - respectively) He told me I have no life. We argued. DURING THE ARGUMENT, he admit he started when MS came out and he played pretty much every single day, participated in all the 2x events, and constantly bought nx to 2x and "try to lv" and keep up with the latest "MS fashions" =========================================================================================== What do you think about this whole "You have no life thing" I see it on basil all the time, for example the "Gratz to ambyxapple on lv 200 Evan" thread, and it annoys me even though it shouldn't. We all have 24 hours in our day We all have different ways of enjoying ourselves We all have stuff to do We all have goals Why is playing MS for 4 hrs considered having "no li

The reason why,is because some people think that using their time to do something else is better than playing maplestory.When you're playing maplestory,you're on a computer(Obviously).People think that you should use that time to do something better.

I think calling someone a "no life" is really lame. How would they know you have no life? Just because people level fast doesn't mean they have no life... It really pisses me off.

its not that we have no lives maple is a hobby people like to enjoy their hobby weather it be 23 hours a day or once a week. however i find it kind of odd it hit u hard when a noob said u have no life. (you are kinda pro :p)

I don't understand how not having a gf means you have no life. I had a gf for a short 2 month and I gotta say I LOVEEE being single so much better then worrying about a girl. But yeah that weird I always take the boat to orbis on my lv132 aran or 141 MM and I never get comments like that.

[/quote] While this is 100% true, it doesn't make sense, for a person PLAYING MS to tell someone else PLAYING THE SAME GAME they don't have a life. I mean, I could understand a friend or a parent saying it "You need to do something better with your time, Go outside and have a life, etc etc" but being so hypocritical confuses me...and it makes me sad =( @TobyH At least you didn't make a dumb post liek Icey, Be proud of admitting something is too long! I WEAR NO PANTS! @DragonTearz Whether its true or not, its not the point, she's going something she enjoys, and if you enjoy playing MS and you do it all day then your life is better than mine, or most other peoples for that matter. No offense to you, but your going to have to get used to be called a "no life" by maplers/basilers. It's just how the maple community is now a days.
