Religion going to be nomore?

since most religion say that god created the earth and people and what not, when science proves that in fact that the universe was created from a singularity point,and find the source of it, would that remove the whole idea of religion? Discuss also just to point out when i talk about religion being gone, i'm referring to the idea of god and the thoughts people have about him and what he has done for the human race.

It will just involve something that helped the "singular point" of "creation" to happen and somehow incorporate a personal God into the mix. Christianity and other religions would just morph yet again, but become more and more meaningless. I doubt religion will die, it will just be extremely relativistic and flexible.

[/quote] that say bold things like that, it always makes me realize just how much faith most people put into science. Yet, I bet you'd argue me into the ground to state how different science and religion are. In case you were wondering, it's if , not when . For that reason, religion won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

He proved that the universe was expanding, thus implying that if we were to reverse the process the universe would collapse on itself, forming a singularity point.

[/quote] Agreed, religion won't disappear from the world just like that, even if it is (by some means) disproved. Any weakening in faith will be a slow and gradual process and it's more likely that religion will "change" as time goes on, to better reflect the changing society and thus continue to be practiced in significant numbers. The news probably would be slow to get to underdeveloped parts of the world, where they probably won't even care and will just carry on as they have for centuries.
