Stupid people pronouncing

My friends at school who play maple all pronounce things the wrong way. To clarify: Cleric is just how it's spelled. Not Cell-er-ic. Zakum is Zay-kum. Not Zuh-kuhm. Mir is Muur. Not Meer. And they pronounce all the cities wrong which I am too lazy to name them all. It's just kinda hard to talk to people in real life about a trade I want to make or something if we're speaking different languages.

No, its not Zay-Kum. That's like saying it with an over-the-top American accent, and that's wrong. Go check the threads on Sleepywood about the lore, the inspirations, and other miscellaneous facts about the game, and you'll find that it's pronounced very differently. You don't want to know how I pronounce that stuff... especially since my name is "Mir" and that's indeed pronounced "meer". :S Pronunciations for those words isn't standardised and people from different languages are destined to pronounce them in different ways.

How do you know what is the "correct" way of pronouncing it? With the exception of Cleric(which is an actual word), most of the names on Maplestory are simply made up. For example, you say that Mir = "muur". According to dictionary.com it's pronounced "meer" and is "a village commune of peasant farmers in prerevolutionary Russia."

dude u gota chill.. people pronounce things there own way doesnt matter.... if u know what they are talking about then dont correct them its not going to make them chance they way they talk and its only going to get them anouyed at you

Koreans pronounce Mir as Mi-reuh. Just because you pronounce it one way does not mean everyone else's pronunciations are incorrect.
